Director Ahmed Khan is all set to begin the final shooting schedule of Welcome to the Jungle, a high-octane entertainer and one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. Featuring a massive star cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, and others, the film kicked off in December 2023 and has been progressing in phases due to the challenge of managing multiple actors’ dates. Despite the logistical juggle, Ahmed remains enthusiastic as the film nears completion.
Speaking about the upcoming schedules, Ahmed revealed, “The next leg of shooting is in Kashmir and the UAE. I’m planning the calendar now because syncing dates for such a big ensemble cast is no easy task. But the energy is great—everyone’s excited to be a part of this movie.”
Reflecting on the current box office trends, Ahmed shared a candid perspective on the evolving expectations from Bollywood. “Earlier, we had distinct genres—art films, action, and family dramas. Now, one film is expected to tick all the boxes. We have to consider how it’ll perform in the South, with multiplex audiences, and on single screens. There’s a lot more to weigh now.”
He continued, “People say films aren’t working, but last year, five movies crossed ₹500 crore each—a milestone we once couldn’t imagine. Now the benchmark is ₹700 crore! Yes, there’s fear, but survival is key. Comedies bring people together. With a big cast, a grand scale, chartbuster music, and loads of laughter, I truly believe Welcome to the Jungle will pull audiences back into theatres.”
