India vs Australia: Indian Bowlers Turn the Tide, Australia on Backfoot in 1st Test

The first day of the first Test match between India and Australia has been completed. However, a total of 17 wickets have fallen on the first day itself. Indian bowlers have turned the tables in the match and put Australia on the backfoot. Team India was all out for just 150 runs while batting first. But the Indian bowlers made even 150 runs look like a mountain in front of Australia. Australia has lost 7 wickets for 67 runs by the end of the first day’s play. At the same time, after the end of the first day’s play, the Australian team is behind by 83 runs.

Indian bowlers turned the tables

Team India had scored just 150 runs while batting first and it seemed that the Australian team would take a good lead after the first innings. But the Indian bowlers did not let this happen and took 7 wickets of the Kangaroos for just 67 runs. A total of 217 runs were scored and 17 wickets fell on the first day of the Perth Test.

 

For the Australian team, Khawaja scored 8, Nathan McSweeney 10, Marnus Labuschagne 2, Steve Smith 0, Travis Head 11, Mitchell Marsh 6 and Pat Cummins scored 3 runs. However, Alex Carey remained unbeaten on 19 and Mitchell Starc on 6 runs.

Deadly bowling by Bumrah-Siraj

Jasprit Bumrah bowled lethally from the beginning and took 3 wickets in his first spell itself. However, Siraj’s first spell did not go well. But after that Siraj took 2 wickets. Bumrah has 4 wickets to his name. Apart from this, Harshit Rana also took 1 wicket.

Record made in Perth

Record breaking performance was witnessed on the first day of Perth Test match. This is the first time since 1952 that a total of 17 wickets have fallen on the first day. However, all the wickets were taken by fast bowlers. On the other hand, spinners did not get any success on this pitch.
