At just 24 years old, filmmaker Arnab Chatterjee is making waves in Bollywood with the launch of his production house, ACjee Entertainment Private Limited, based in Mumbai. This marks an exciting new chapter in his already impressive career, as he steps into the Bollywood industry with his debut Hindi film, Murdabaad.
ACjee Entertainment, formerly known as ACjee Productions, has a legacy that spans over a decade. The journey began in 2013 when a young Arnab, still in middle school in Kolkata, started producing a series of short films. Over the years, his passion and expertise in filmmaking grew, leading to the creation of his first indie-feature film, Unsaid (2016), which earned global recognition at film festivals. Arnab continued to hone his craft, and in 2021, he released Jonmodin, a Bengali short film starring the iconic Soumitra Chatterjee.
Now, after years of building his reputation, Arnab is ready to take a giant leap with Murdabaad, his most ambitious project to date. As a solo writer, director, and producer, Arnab has poured his heart and soul into this romantic suspense drama. The film stars Gully Boy fame Nakul Roshan Sahdev and Kanikka Kapur, alongside Sharib Hashmi, Manish Prakash Chaudhari, and Saloni Batra (known for Animal).
Murdabaad tells the story of a tour guide in Rajasthan who falls in love with an NRI tourist, only for things to take a dark turn during the course of their tour. A unique blend of romance and crime thriller, the film promises to offer a fresh and captivating narrative style.
Set to release in early 2025, Murdabaad marks the first full-fledged Bollywood production for ACjee Entertainment, and the film is already generating buzz for its genre-defying approach to storytelling. With the first look set to be unveiled soon, Murdabaad is poised to stir audiences and make a lasting impact on the industry.
