BGT: Indian batting looked in complete control on the second day of the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. On the basis of Jasprit Bumrah’s 5 wickets before lunch, India bowled out Australia for 104 in the first innings and took a lead of 46 runs. Young Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, who came to bat in the second innings, gave India a great start. Australian bowlers yearned for wickets throughout the day. By the end of the second day’s play, Jaiswal and Rahul had made a partnership of 172 runs. Both are moving towards a big record. India has gained a lead of 218 runs over the host team on the second day, while all 10 wickets are safe.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul are moving towards the biggest partnership ever in Australia. Sunil Gavaskar and Srikkanth had a partnership of 191 runs in 1986, which is the highest partnership ever from India in this country. Jaiswal and Rahul need 20 more runs to break this record. This pair has now come to second place in this list. Three days of play are still left and India is in no hurry to lose wickets. Till stumps, Jaiswal is at the crease with 90 runs and Rahul with 62 runs.

BGT: Harshit Rana took 3 wickets
Australia started playing on the second day at 67/7. Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket to complete his 5 wickets. Harshit Rana showed the way to the pavilion to the remaining two batsmen. In his very first international match, Rana performed brilliantly and took three wickets. Rana conceded 48 runs in 15.2 overs but he also got success from time to time. Bumrah took 5 wickets for only 30 runs in 18 overs. Siraj got two successes, he conceded 20 runs in 13 overs.
BGT: India would like to take a lead of more than 400
Captain Pat Cummins used seven bowlers to break the Indian opening pair, but none of them succeeded. Mitchell Marsh conceded 27 runs in 6 overs at an economy of 4.50. The Indian batsmen did not give any bowler a chance to put pressure. Jaiswal and Rahul batted for 57 overs and kept the scoreboard moving by hitting fours and sixes from time to time. India will aim to take a lead of more than 400 to win this match. Many strong batsmen of the team are still yet to come to the crease.
